How high to hang your sconce
As a general rule, mount a wall sconce with its center about 60–66 inches (152–168 cm) from the floor — roughly eye level for most rooms.
Beside a bathroom mirror: place one sconce on each side, centered around 60–66 inches high and about 28–30 inches apart for even, shadow-free light on the face.
In a hallway or stairway: space multiple sconces 8–10 feet apart for a balanced rhythm of light.
